In the city of New Orleans and in the state of Louisiana, a baby boy was born on Sunday, April 7, 1935, to Mr. Lester Maulet, Sr. and Ms. Rose Vola Toca Maulet. They named him Eugene Emmanuel Maulet. He became the younger brother to two siblings, Lester Maulet, Jr. and Lorraine Maulet. Eugene was educated in the Orleans Parish School System. He was a proud graduate of Joseph S. Clark Senior High School. Eugene was a devoted and loving husband to Mrs. Joann Harris Maulet and a proud father to the late Eugene E. Maulet, Jr. Vanessa Maulet, Karen Maulet Daggs, Andre D. Harris and Enrico J. Harris, Sr. Eugene was employed by Tulane Hospital as a Lab Technician Assistant. This job afforded him the opportunity to perform hands-on scientific experiments on lab animals. After retiring from Tulane Hospital, Eugene decided to join Audubon Park where he worked as a Tennis Court Assistant. Eugene enjoyed going to the racetrack, preferably the New Orleans Fairgrounds. This brought him great joy, but even more added to his rich conversations. He enjoyed watching horses' race so much that he even had the network channel added to watch while at home. He also enjoyed watching football, playing cards, and spending quality time with family. Eugene leaves his cherished memories to his loving and devoted wife, Joann Harris Maulet, his daughters, Vanessa Maulet, and Karen (Leonard) Daggs, his sons Andre D. Harris and Enrico J. Harris, Sr. His grandchildren, Terrance Vick, Quan Fisher, Eugene Fisher, Derrick Fisher, Jeremy Maulet, Austin Harvey, Jahric and Enrico Harris, great-grandchildren, Kaden and Luna Maulet; one brother Lester (Bertha) Maulet, Jr., his Godchildren, Patricia Reuben Blair, Anisha N. Nelson, sisters-in-law, Velaria Burd, Diann Lewis, Tremeica Harris; brothers-in-law, Bobby Harris, Larry (Wanda) Nelson, Leonard (Betty) Nelson, and Patrick (Leslie) Nelson, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his former wife the late Helen E. Martin Maulet and his son Eugene E. Maulet, Jr., his parents Mr. Lester and Mrs. Rose Toca Maulet, Sr.; his sister, Ms. Lorraine Maulet, his in-laws Mr. Syleous and Mrs. Stella Harris, Sr., Mr. Ben and Mrs. Albertha Nelson; sisters-in-law, Florence Reuben, Thelma Washington, Evelyn Miller, Ethel Martin, Renette Nelson and brothers-in-law, James Martin, Silas Harris, Jr., and John Nolan Lewis.
