Gene Mullins of Fairborn, age 95, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024. He was born November 26, 1929 in Robinson Creek, Kentucky, the son of the late Frank and Hattie Mullins.
Gene was a longtime member of Maple Heights Baptist Church. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and as a Shriner. The owner of a Sunoco station, he also managed Gene’s Body Shop for 44 years in downtown Fairborn. He loved anything to do with cars, especially Thunderbirds, and was a member of the T-Bird Club. Gene loved to go boating, water skiing and was a master at skiing on one ski.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Wilma Mullins and his six siblings; Julius Mullins, Bulius Mullins, Fonetta Hilterbran, Aaron (Jim) Mullins, Marcella Hilterbran and Richard Mullins. Gene had five children, Don (JoAnn) Mullins, Shirley Bacon, Ron (Trish) Mullins, Teressa Morse, and Tammy (Robert) Sickinger, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 26, 2024 at 12:00 noon at the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, Pastor Chris Tannreuther officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Gene will be laid to rest next to his wife, Wilma at Locust Grove Cemetery in Peebles, Ohio.
