Eugene O'Sullivan of Long Beach, NY passed away on August 21, 2025.
He leaves behind his sisters Eileen, Margaret and Marian. He was predeceased by his youngest sister Elizabeth (Betsy/Liz) Murphy and his parents Edward and Eleanor.
Eugene grew up in Long Beach and was an avid fisherman, often providing family and neighbors with fresh fish . . and blue-claw crabs. The crabs were a real summertime treat.
He joined the Navy in 1970, spending time in Vietnam and the Philippines. He loved snorkeling in the beautiful foreign water of the Philippines.
Upon his return to the states he worked for a local roofer. Then he got a job with the Long Island Rail Road (Joe, the roofer said "I have to hire 2 men to do the work of Eugene"). He started on the LIRR as a coach cleaner, then entered the training program and became a car repairman.
After he retired from the LIRR, he moved to Florida. He returned to the Long Beach area in 2022. He will be missed by his family and friends and even his many acquaintances.
