Eugene John Perfetto, 99 of Logansport passed away at 4:56 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2025 at home.
Born December 26, 1925 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Louis and Florence (Donato) Perfetto.
He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army-Air Corp as a radio and radar mechanic and was stationed at Tempelhof during the occupation of Berlin.
He attended St. Vincent de Paul parochial school and upon returning from military service graduated from Logansport High School in 1948.
Eugene retired after 36 years of employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central and Conrail. He had also worked part-time with other railroaders at the Harris Small Engine Shop.
Memberships include the VFW Post 3790 and the Transportation Communications Union.
Survivors include son, Bradley Gene Perfetto of Logansport, 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Suetta Greer Perfetto, daughter, Sandra Sue Mead, sister, Angelina Mary Gallaway and brother, Joseph Perfetto.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel with Father Michael Block officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital.
