Eugene "Gene" Piacentini

Eugene "Gene" Piacentini, cherished Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed peacefully on November 11, 2024 at the age of seventy-eight. Hailing from Somerville, Gene also lived in Edgartown, North Andover and Medford, MA, as well as, Salem, NH.
Gene is survived by his wife Susan (Applebaum) Piacentini with whom he shared 57 years of love and adventure. He is also survived by his three children, Gina Piacentini, Jason Piacentini and his wife Patricia, and Nicole (Piacentini) Palazzolo and her husband Bryan; his grandsons Maximilian Lacostic, Joshua Lacostic and his fiancée Michelle Barrett, Aidan and Sean Walsh; his precious granddaughter Lillian Palazzolo; his great granddaughters Cecilia and Stella Lacostic; his Brother-in-law Barry Applebaum and several nieces and nephews.
Gene graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in New Haven and Suffolk University. Gene believed in working hard, and it showed in his success. He was the proud co- founder and Executive Vice President of Creative Gourmets, LTD, in Boston, MA and Divisional Vice President of Vending Services at Sodexho Corporation. President Ronald Reagan honored Gene by appointing him to the National Conference on Small Business. He also went on to serve as Co-chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Finance Committee and as a delegate to the 1988 Republican Convention.
A long-time member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company, Gene enjoyed years of friendship, travel and charitable activities with the group.
Friends and family will remember Gene for his love of Martha's Vineyard and its beaches, the pleasure he took in traveling and entertaining with his wife.
