Eugene Leon Reynolds, age 77, of Madisonville, Tennessee went home to be with his heavenly father on August 4, 2025, at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Tellico Plains, where he enjoyed helping with the music ministry. Eugene had a deep love for gardening, doing yard work and found great enjoyment in spending time on his porch watching the birds and appreciating the simple moments in life. Earlier in his life he helped to form the Christianburg Fire Department, where he also served as chief, and spent a lot of time volunteering and working on fundraising. He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert Taylor and Pearlie Mae Helton Reynolds; brothers and sister: Hubert, Henry, Homer "Buddy", Stanley, Charlie Reynolds, Nora Clower, Dovie Mae Moses, Maude Daily, Myrtle Kirkland and Margie Kirkland He was survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Astel (Flip) Reynolds; sons and daughters-in-law: Dewayne and Sindy Reynolds (Athens, TN), Chad and Shannon McLemore (Decatur, TN); daughter and son-in-law: Stacey and Brent Rupinski (Palm Coast, FL); grandchildren: Brittany and Travis White, Cody and Heaven Campbell, Zack Cole, Carlee McLemore and Braden McLemore; great granddaughter Maizie Campbell; special sister-in-law: Marilyn Ryder; daughter-in-law: Kathy Reynolds; a host of nieces and nephews and special friends that he loved very much. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5:00P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. in Kyker's Chapel with Rev. Gerald Lynn officiating. Friends and family will meet at 10:45 A.M. at the Rafter Friends Cemetery for an 11:00 A.M. interment.
