Dear Dad,
When I think of what to say , I love you is all that comes to mind .
Buster and I reminisce about our time with you , Dad it was so nice to have you with us , Sophie too. Dad my heart broke when I knew the time was near , I and I believe you knew as well that we needed a little more help .
Dad I loved when we would sit and visit , go get a bite to eat or just sit and talk .
Dad you had a way of making me laugh and smile , like no one . Dad I thank you for encouraging me to apply for the airlines , and supporting my marriage by telling me and Buster to go where the money is , you gotta do it . Is what you would say .
Dad I could go on and on but I'll save that for our talks when I'm. Needing you , and I know you will be there .
Well I guess that was a lot for saying all I can think of is I love you ...

So sorry to hear Gene has passed. I worked with him for many years in the DFW area. I came to know Gene as a friend and will miss him. My condolences to his family. He made the world a little better being here.

Gene was a special part of our family in Buffalo N Y with so many great memories from Crystal Beach outings holiday gatherings to just enjoying his constant laugh and smile. You felt good just being in his company with his easy going personality and giving ways to all. His love of life family and friends give us all a smile when we think of him even when not with us physically he will always be part of the nice memories of our time with him. From the "other Gene" rest in peace Gene

I cherished our forty year friendship and more. Thanks to Gene for the best birthday imaginable. I flew to tx where he had arranged a surprise b day party where willie nelson was appearing. Willie sang a song to me on stage called angels flying too close to the ground coutesy of Gene. We loved Willie and the song always on my mind was our special song. I will always remember our fun trips to treasure island and how he hoped to return one day. Sorry for the family loss of such an unforgettable person but at least we have amazing memories as love never dies. Ill be at TI this week with him in spirit.

I am very sorry for the family loss as he was one of a kind. I have so many memories of him from the early years of him teaching me to drive in that texas heat with burning seats to decades later I was re doing my master bathroom in nashville with travertine tile and he helped me negotiate and got me to go to a liquidator. So unlike me. I really believed he would end up in his beloved treasure island and all our dogs would finally meet as i felt like i knew them but it was not to be. Glad to know he was surrounded by Linda and his family. Caroline W.

Anne/Lauri, I am so sorry to hear about your father. He was a GREAT friend of mine for the years I spent in Arlington, Tx. with Dal-Tile. I remember the pool parties, the "after hour" beers and the keen friendship we shared. While I lost touch with him, I certainly wish I would have known he was in Florence, CO. Not that far from Denver. You have one heck of a Dad and I will certainly miss him.
