Eugene Antone Snyders age 77, passed away peacefully at 10:17 a.m. on Wednesday February 19th, 2025, with his daughters by his side.
Eugene was born July 5th, 1947, in Batchtown Illinois, to Gerald E. Snyders and Lorain N. (Branham) Ripplinger. Along with his parents, a brother Kevin Snyders, a sister-in-law Carole Snyders, and a nephew Rusty Johnson also proceed him in death.
Gene is survived by two daughters: Lori Snyders of (Alton), Lisa Snyders of (Kampsville), granddaughter Brianna Behrens, two great grandchildren Calliope and Korbyn, two brothers David (Barb) Snyders of (Alton), Sonny Snyders of (Godfrey), a sister Brenda (Kenyon) Johnson of (Kampsville), and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
Gene served in the United States Army and later went to work at Olin for many years. He also drove a shuttle for the Alton Belle Casino. He enjoyed visiting and making new friends. He rarely missed a chance to cheer on the Calhoun Warriors, and was a devoted sports fan. Gene lived a simple life, enjoyed every chance he got to tell a joke or make someone laugh. He loved spending time with his family, watching westerns, and playing cards.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
