Eugene Thompson Obituary
Mr. Thompson was born, October 30, 1928, in Griffin, Georgia. His parents, Hite and Nora Thompson, son, Wayne Thompson, and son-in-law, Tommy Musselwhite, all preceded him in death. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp having served from 1946 until 1949. He was retired from Stowe Woodward, longtime active member of Fairview Baptist Church until his health declined, having served as a Sunday school teacher, former church treasurer, and deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Tanksley Thompson; son, Barry Thompson (Judy), daughter Teresa Musselwhite; grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Christopher Musselwhite (Michelle), Amanda Buckley; great grandchildren, Chase Musselwhite, Makayla Sorrells, Kai Buckley, Christina Musselwhite; several nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Fairview Baptist Church. Followed by a funeral service in the sanctuary. Pastor Charles Johnson will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
