Eugene Waiters of Palmetto, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 23,2025. Born on February 9, 1946, in Palmetto, Eugene was the cherished son of the late Alphonso Waiters, Sr., and Jeanette Waiters.

He was formerly united in marriage to Barbara Waiters for over 20 years, building a lasting family legacy of sons, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eugene proudly served and retired as a Yardmaster at the Manatee County Port Authority where he was recognized for his dedication and distinguished himself for his hard work ethic. Outside of
work, Eugene's passion for sports led him to become a fiercely loyal fan of the NFL Kansas City Chiefs. Educated in the Manatee County public schools, he generously volunteered his time with Teen Fire Community Outreach transporting dozens of kids at a time out of state to Christian camps while assisting with tuition sponsorship and chaperoning.

Eugene accepted Christ into his life at an early age. He previously attended Temple of Faith Church in Rubonia, Florida, where he was a faithful member and received two years of training on ministry outreach. He recently joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Palmetto under Reverend Ron Shipp. He loved his family and would often make a point to tell them that he loved and appreciated them verbally or sometimes with a frequent text.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his sons, Eugene Titus Waiters of Wesley Chapel, FL and Joshua (wife Julia) Waiters of Eagle Lake, FL; daughters, Janet (husband Byron) Mitchell of Port Charlotte, FL, Sandy (husband Julius) Washington of Palmetto, FL, and Jasmine Waiters of Winter Haven, FL; stepsons, Cornelius Watkins, Jr., and Isaac Watkins of Bradenton, FL; sisters, Sheron (husband Mozell) Ackerman of Palmetto, FL, and Kathy Gray of Parrish, FL; sister-in-law, Laura Wallace of Palmetto, FL; and a caring host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved parents; two siblings, Alphonso Waiters, Jr., and Reverend Dr. Lavern Waiters, Sr.; and good friend, Yvonne Wallace.
