Euna Mae Stringer

GREENFIELD - Euna Mae Stringer, age 83, of Greenfield, IN, formerly of Pendleton and Indianapolis, IN and Monticello, KY, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Rawlins House in Pendleton, Indiana. She was born in Monticello, Kentucky on April 21, 1942 to the late Ode and Opal (Coffey) Slaven. On January 14, 1961, she married Carl Stringer in Monticello, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 2021. Together, Carl and Euna Mae had five daughters – Sharon, Penny, Carla, Lisa and Janet.
Euna Mae was a homemaker, and worked various other jobs, including as a school cafeteria worker and department store clerk. She loved camping, fishing and traveling with her husband and visiting her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also attended Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield and had a deep faith in Jesus.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Larry) Dishman of Moss Point, MS, Penny (Ransom) Covington of Indianapolis, Carla (Scott) Duncan of Indianapolis, Lisa (John) Richardson of New Castle, and Janet (Dave) Bolding of Greenfield.
In addition to her five daughters, she is survived by twenty grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grandchildren: Amanda (Michael) Bradshaw (children – Carter, Sawyer); Angie (Tim) Wilson (children – Brayden, Brycen, Mason, Ellie, Charlotte, Caroline); Amy (Aaron) Brock (children – Maggie, Andy, River, Laurel); Alaina (Roland) Stegmeier (children – Maverick, Rockwell), Aaron (Erica) Dishman (children – Ivy, Indy); Andrew (Emily) Dishman (children – Troy, Rosie, Ruby, Cash, Annie); Austin (Megan) Dishman; Anthony Dishman (children – Jasper, Jace, John Walker, Journey); Darren (Abbie) Covington (children – William), Diana (Chris) Brown (children – Mallory, Ethan); Olivia (Hardy) Breeding; Jessie (Michael) Johnson (children – Charlie Ruth, Andie Jo); Connor Vaughn; Savanna Duncan; Sophie Duncan (fiancé Troy Verbarg); Alissa (Derek) Orr (children – Alana, Lilly, Ella); Jeremy (Karen) Richardson (children – Kinsie, Maci); Jordan (Molly) Richardson (children – Archie, Miles); Donovan (Zoe) Bolding (children – Ava); and, Blaine (Andrea) Bolding.
She is also survived by one sister, Barbara Vaughn, two sisters-in-law, Rosie Stringer and Dorothy Stringer, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Annette Slaven and Naomi Hall.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Reverend Darren Covington will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens – Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
