Eunice Florence (Ostrowski) Nagle
08/09/1936-11/15/2021

We called her Eunice, Aunt Eunie, Babci, Mom...,
She touched so many lives, so many hearts!

Her humble beginning was in the coal mining town of Wilkes Barre, PA. Where many of her dear family still reside. She grew up in the arms of her own dear grandmother, her Babci, along with her aunts, Frances, Aggie, Annie and Frizzy. Sadly, all are gone now, yet cousins abound! She met the love of her life, William Robert Nagle-- who everyone called Bob and they married in October of 1957 when she was just 21. Gregory was born in 1959, and Daniel followed in 1960. Eunice and Bob were close with both sides of their family, and bonds are very strong yet today. Eunice worked raising her boys, and as a teacher, bookkeeper and accountant in several towns, as Bob climbed the corporate ladder in insurance. Eunice made lifelong friends of her colleagues and kept her many friendships dear. The years after her sons became adults were spent working and travelling with Bob as time permitted. In 1987, Greg and his family moved to Connecticut and Eunice was thrilled to have her two granddaughters so close. When Bob retired they decided to buy a place in Venice, FL so they could winter in the south. They travelled-sometimes alone, and often with family. Eunice loved to travel, and she flew, cruised, and went by train or car to so many places over the years. When Bob passed away in 2002, she decided to stay in Florida most of the time, coming north when the heat was too much. Eunice made so many friends over the years and kept in touch in person when she could and on Facebook when she couldn't. A few years ago she received a call which led to the discovery of a sister, Barbara-two years younger-that she had never known existed. Such joy, tinged with sadness that these two ladies didn't meet until late in life. And to anyone that knows them, they are so much alike. In 2021, Eunice decided that she would leave Florida and live full time in Illinois, with her son Greg and his wife, Mary. Her son Dan and his wife Andra were close by, as were her granddaughter, Christina, granddaughter, Kate and husband, Dallas, and great grandchildren, Addison and Hayden.
Her passing was unexpected after an illness she could not bounce back from, but her life was rich and full of love, and positive energy that touched everyone who knew her. Very special thanks to Cliessa Nagle. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Eunice's name to Easterseals.
