Today We honor the life and legacy of Eunice Warren - a strong, blessed woman whose faith, perseverance, and quiet dignity shaped everyone who knew her.
Born in
Griffin, Georgia to Milas Floyd McGinty and Lula Mae Walker McGinty Jones, Eunice was rooted early in family, faith, and resilience. She received her formal education in the Griffin-Spalding County school system and proudly graduated from Fairmont High School in 1960 - a milestone that reflected both determination and promise.
At an early age. Eunice accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Mount Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. O. H. Stinson. Her faith was not merely something she professed; it was something she lived. It guided her decisions. anchored her Family. and sustained her through life's joys and trials.
Eunice served faithfullv in her church conununitv. For more than fifteen years. she served as President of the Mt. Zion Usher Board. She was a dedicated Vacation Bible School teacher and served as Secretary of the Middle Georgia Ushers Association. Her service reflected her servant's heart - organized, dependable, and committed to excellence in God's house.
Professionally. Eunice devoted 24 vears ro rhe Griffin-Spalding County School System as a paraprofessional and Media Center Assistant at Crescent Elementary School. She nurtured young minds with patience and encouragement, leaving an indelible mark on students and colleagues alike. Education was not merely her occupation; it was her ministry.
Her commitment to community extended beyond church and career. As an active member of the Fairmont High School Alumni Association, she served for several years as coordinator for the FHS alumni parades - helping preserve history, fellowship, and pride among classmates and friends. She's also an original member of the Black Heritage Festival Committee.
At an earlier age, Eunice was blessed with a daughter, Phyllis. She later married the late Charlie Cleveland Warren, Jr., ånd to this union were born three cherished children, Reginald, Adrian, and Susan. In her boundless capacity to love, she also became mother to a fifth child Kwame. Motherhood defined her - steadfast, nurturing, protective, and prayerful. Her children were her joy, and her family was her greatest acomplishment.
Eunice impacted many lives and was loved by many. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her children Phyllis Hood Walker (Timothy), Reginald Warren, Sr. (Pamela), Adrian Warren, Susan Warren, and Kwame McGinty, beloved grandchildren Jawana Walker-Mihindou. Brodrick Walker (Davina), Ayona White, Marquavious White, Reginald Warren, Jr., Monterrick Hollis, Tavlor Oliver. Dedrick Tyus, Kwame Jr.. Kamiyia Bostick, Kalia Lee, Trinity, Harlie, Prince, Kamoriah, great gandchiidren, Jahzaria Newman, Chloe' Walker, Adonis Mihindou, Monterrick, Jr., Kingston and Ari. Nieces, Satina Pyron, Lisa Pyron, Althea (Bam) Pyron, sisters-in-laws, Queen Cheeves, DeeAnn Warren. Carolyn Crawford, Shelia Warren, Patricia Mathis and Darlene Watkins. A host of other extended family members, and friends whose lives she enriched through love and example.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Burden's Funeral Home. Service Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service hour. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Cleopatrick Lacy is the Eulogist.
