Eva Allred

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Eva Chacon Allred, 80, on Friday, August 22, 2025, in Lovington, New Mexico. Eva was being cared for by family in New Mexico but was a longtime resident of Thatcher, Arizona. She was born in Rancho De Rivero, Chihuahua to parents Nieves and Paula Chacon.

Eva married her beloved husband, James Allred, on December 23, 1976, and they were married for 43 years until he preceded her in death on February 29, 2020. Eva could always be found in her kitchen where she loved cooking meals for her many nieces, nephews, friends and family alike. Eva had many dogs over the years, and she loved every one of them dearly. Some of her favorites included Mustache and Canelo. They were her constant companions.

Eva came from a family of ten and is preceded in death by: her parents, Nieves and Paula Chacon; brothers, Mercedes Chacon and Jose Chacon; and sisters, Felicidad Hernandez, Estela Ortega, and Emma Hernandez.

Eva is survived by: her sisters, Socorro Tarango, Paula Rivero, Elvira Ruiz, and Soledad Tarango.

All services will be conducted on Friday, September 5, 2025. Viewing at 7:30 a.m., a Catholic Rosary will begin at 8:00 a.m., both will be at the Vining Funeral Home, located at 1940 S. 20th Avenue, Safford, AZ 85546.

A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at the Thatcher Cemetery.
