Norman Willard Wilson was born on September 11, 1929, in Duncan, Arizona to George and Cloma Wilson. He grew up being the youngest brother with four older "bossy" sisters; Barbara, Wanda, Lila and Eula. He attended schools in Duncan and then in Douglas, Arizona. School was not Norman's favorite thing to do.

At the age of 19 he met his wife Dororthy. They were married for 64 years. Norman worked for the railroad as a lineman and later he began his career with Phelps Dodge as an electrician. In 1971 the mine in Bisbee was getting ready to close and Norman transferred to the Safford mine. He worked for 30+ years for the company. Not one to be idle, he then went to work for Safford Schools for 10 years. Norman and Dorothy raised three boys Rory, Norman Jr., and Bret. Norman loved Safford. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather, worker and friend. He also loved drinking coffee every morning with his son, or the guys at Jerry's. He enjoyed every minute of his life and never met a stranger, just a new friend to visit with.

He is survived by: two sons, Norman Jr. and Bret Wilson, following the passing of his eldest son Rory; six grandchildren, Angela Naylor, Natasha Camp, Rory Jr. Wilson, Jennifer Farris, Rylynne Wilson and Kory Wilson; great-grandchildren, Skylar Naylor, Dylan Naylor, Hayden Camp, Jaxon Camp, Dakota White, Kayla Farris, Trevor Wilson, Camryn Costello, Lanaya Aranda, Lilly Aranda, Landon Aranda; and his neighbor, Chantelle Bejarano, who always called him Grandpa.

He is preceded into death by: his parents; his sisters; his wife, Dorothy; and his son, Rory.

He will certainly be missed and the streets of Safford might be just a little safer with the "Little Red" pickup officially off the road.
