Jean, as her family and friends knew her best, was born on August 29, 1937, in Gilbert, West Virginia. Jean, a Registered Nurse, was the beloved wife of Bill D. Baker, and loving mother of three children. Jean and Bill lived on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland for many years while wintering in Punta Gorda for 22 years before becoming full time residents five years ago.
Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Baker, and their children, daughter Kym Sibilsky of Dahlonega, GA, son Josh Baker of Tampa, FL, and granddaughter, Adela Simone Baker. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a son, Kevin M. Baker.
A Gathering to remember and celebrate Jean's life will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel located at 215 Mary St. in Punta Gorda. A private committal will be held by the Baker family at a later date.
