John Waldron Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Orender Family Home on Feb. 7, 2026.
John A. Waldron ("Jack"), age 84, of Manasquan, New Jersey and Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026.

Born on October 25, 1941, in Bayonne, New Jersey, Jack was the son of Muriel TaBois and Leonard Waldron. He grew up in Bayonne and spent his summers at the Jersey Shore, experiences that shaped a lifelong love of the water and a deep appreciation for friendship, loyalty, and adventure.

While growing up in Bayonne he attended Marist High School, after he graduated from Saint Peter's University in Jersey City, New Jersey. Jack then began his career at Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., an accounting firm in New York City. He later transitioned into wine sales, where he spent 30 years with Gallo Wine Sales of New Jersey, ultimately serving as Vice President. Known for his strong work ethic, leadership, and easy rapport with others, Jack built lasting professional relationships throughout his career, many of which became lifelong friendships.

Jack was an avid skier and spent countless weekends skiing with his family in Stratton, Vermont-the very place where he took his bride, Marsha, for their honeymoon. That trip marked the beginning of decades of five-hour weekend drives each winter, packing up the car whenever the first snowfall hit. Those winters became a cherished family tradition.

A natural teacher and adventurer at heart, Jack taught his daughters how to ski, scuba dive, shoot, and drive tractors-skills rooted in his own youth spent on his aunt and uncle's farm, where he learned the value of hard work, independence, and hands-on living.

Throughout his life, Jack traveled widely with family and friends, creating memories that spanned decades. In retirement, he fully embraced the pursuits he loved most-boating, jet skiing, traveling, and spending time with those closest to him-approaching each day with enthusiasm and a genuine zest for life.

Jack was a longtime member of the Bay Head Yacht Club and the Seafarers Boating Club, where he was deeply grateful for the good fortune of living on the water and the friendships formed there over many years. He was also a member of the Isles Yacht Club in Punta Gorda, Florida, where he and Marsha enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow boaters and adventurers.

While his interests kept him active, Jack's greatest pride was his family. He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marsha (Johnson) Waldron. Together, they raised their family in Brick, New Jersey, building a home filled with love, laughter, and enduring traditions.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife Marsha; his loving children Jennifer Horner and son-in-law Richard Horner, Heather Mantone and son-in-law David Mantone; and his cherished grandchildren Ryan, Maris, and Lilly Horner, and Annabel and August Mantone. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Looney, as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends-some friendships spanning more than 70 years.

Jack will be remembered for the life he built, the lessons he passed on, and the many miles-on land, sea, and snow-he traveled with those he loved. He especially cherished teaching his children and grandchildren to drive tractors and boats, often with them perched proudly on his lap.

Arrangements are under the care of Orender Family Home for Funerals, Manasquan, NJ. A celebration of Jack's life will be held at a future date.
