Eva Christine Gaspard

Cow Island-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Eva Christine Gaspard, 56, who died Monday, September 25, 2023, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery with Reverend Matthew Barzare officiating the services.  Pallbearers will be Scotty Gaspard, Gary Gaspard, Matthew Guidry, Seth Guidry, Ronnie Segura, and Lucas Dartez.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dominic Bennett and Dereck Segura.

Eva was a faithful woman who loved the Lord and prayed daily.    She loved the beach life, especially collecting seashells. While growing up, she developed a talent for cooking and gardening.  She spent many hours hunting alongside her husband.  In her spare time, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts.  Another of her personal accomplishments was receiving her G.E.D. and medical coding degree.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Terry Gaspard; two daughters, Brittney Gaspard, and Amber Gaspard and her husband, Lucas Dartez; granddaughter, Zoe Dartez; mother, Shirley Leonard; and father, Roy Segura, Sr.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry Leonard and Eve Charpentier; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Amelina Segura; and brother, Roy Segura, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles St., on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 9:30 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM; Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM when the procession will depart for the church.
