With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jasper Ryan Richardson, who left this world far too soon on March 15, 2026, at the tender age of six. Born on November 6, 2019, in Abbeville, Louisiana, Jasper radiated joy and laughter from the very start. He brought light into every room he entered, often seen with a brilliant smile on his face, embodying the cheerful spirit that endeared him to all who knew him.
Jasper's visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville on March 27, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM, with a heartfelt funeral service scheduled later that day at 12:00 PM. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery. As a final celebration of Jasper's bright and cheerful spirit, we ask all attendees to honor him by wearing bright colors; children are encouraged to don shades of yellow, while adults should embrace the vibrancy of colorful attire. His pallbearers will include Tyler Monteaux, Eric Hebert, Keegan Gaspard, Kaden Conner, Logan Boudreaux, and Avery Delcambre. Honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Delcambre. Jasper was a spirited little one, who loved to sprint across the soccer field, always chasing after the ball with his infectious energy. His favorite subject was math, a nod to his bright curiosity and eagerness to learn. He had a special fondness for the color yellow, which reflected his sunny disposition and warm heart. Outside, Jasper thrived, whether he was imagining grand adventures with his action figures or roaring like a T-Rex—his favorite dinosaur. And of course, who could forget his love for Sonic the Hedgehog, zipping around like a whirlwind with laughter trailing behind him? Jasper will be profoundly missed by his mother, Kali Monteaux; stepfather Kendrick Gaspard; brothers, Kolson and Asher Gaspard; stepbrother, Brantley; stepsisters, Ainsley and Adeline; maternal grandmother, Tammy Hebert; paternal grandmother, Janice Richardson; step paternal grandparents, Derick and Crystal Conner; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Kenneth R. Monteaux, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Steve Richardson; and stepmother, Kasie Richardson. Rest in peace, sweet boy. You will always be our sunshine.
