Eva Maria McGinnis, age 78, of Meridian, MS passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Eva worked as a fulltime mother and grandmother. She was known affectionately as Omi and Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a beautiful soul whose love language was serving food to her family.
She was a classic movie fan and also loved watching the television series Downton Abby and The Antique Road Trip.
Eva was born in Germany but one of the proudest days of her life is when she received her U.S. Citizenship.
She is survived by her two sons, David Everington Jr. (Michele) and Floyd Everington (Linda); grandchildren, Breann Rapoza (Jon), Brooke Tanner (Keegan), Kristyl Arroyo (Jason), Kirstie Carter, Karli Dodd (Tom), Justin Everington (Chynna), Ayden Everington; 20 great-grandchildren, and the father of her sons, David Everington, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her father Adolf Engelmann and her mother Maria Engelmann.
