Eva O. Del Rio, 90, entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Eva dedicated her career to bookkeeping, working at Terry Ferry's Department Store and later at Martinez Bookkeeping Services for many years. She was also a devoted partner to her husband, assisting him in their family trucking and horse racing businesses.
A woman of deep faith and compassion, Eva had a heart for serving others-especially those in need. Her greatest joy was visiting and praying with the sick, whether in nursing homes or in their own homes. She lived out her faith through service and prayer, touching countless lives with her kindness and devotion.
Eva was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul and Immaculate Heart of Mary. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at Queen of Peace and was a member of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She also shared her faith by teaching CCD for many years.
In her leisure time, Eva found joy in gardening and quilting. Above all, she cherished her family deeply and loved them with all her heart. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generosity of spirit, and the love she shared with everyone who knew her.
Eva is survived by her sister, Juanita Olivarez Juarez of San Antonio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Sr. and Santos Olivarez, and by her beloved siblings: Maria De La Luz O. Hernandez, Delia O. Garcia, Santo "Tito" O. Castillo, Oralia O. Trevino, Juan Olivarez Jr., and Julie O. Garza.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Father Jesse officiating. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Cemetery in San Benito, with Brother Hoss Alvarez presiding.
Pallbearers will be Lupe Trevino, Eduardo Hernandez, John Richard Hernandez, Ronald Olivarez, James Olivarez, and George Hernandez.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
