Eva D Rodriguez

Our loving mother, Eva died peacefully on December 25, 2024 in her home surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was 88 years old, an immigrant from Dominican Republic arrived in 1964 to New York City. She was fearless finding her first job in the textile industry within days of arriving and just learning her first English words--Hello, Work, Operator, Thank you. She loved New York City, the beauty of the many wonders of the city, especially the train system. She is the daughter of Francisco Javier Espaillat Paulino and Maria Trinidad Lizardo Polanco and sister to 11 siblings. A child of God as of early age taught Catechism and later taught the towns people that were analphabets. She was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. Grew up during the reign of the dictator Trujilo longing to one day be a nun but found greater joy in helping the sick, the ones in need. She married Diego Nicholas Rodriguez on November 27, 1965. Moved to Lawrence Massachusetts in 1972 to provide a better lifestyle for her children, Evelyn Maria, Diego David and John Francisco, Nicholas Tobias and Michael Nicholas.
She basked us with unconditional love, taught us strength of spirit, and she had an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. She will forever be remembered by all that had the pleasure to enjoy her love and wisdom.
Eva D Rodrguez Espaillat is survived by daughter Evelyn, and sons John, Nicholos and Michael.
Services in her honor will by on Saturday January 4th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Lakeland Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 2125 South Bartow Road Lakeland Florida where she will be buried next to her husband Diego and grandchild Gabrial Michael. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her favorite charity-St Jude Children's Hospital in her memory.
