Evan J Ganey

Evan James Ganey of Bellerose Village passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on September 23, 1938, in the Bronx, Evan lived a rich and devoted life marked by service, family, and enduring passions. He proudly served his country as a member of the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army, embodying the values of courage, honor, and dedication.
Professionally, Evan worked in the insurance industry. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees rarely missing a game and never stopping in his support for his team. Outside of work, he found joy in racquetball-his favorite sport to play-and spent countless hours on the court, competing with the same spirited energy that he brought to every aspect of his life.
Evan had a deep love for the beach, often spending time near the ocean where he found peace and happiness. At home, he was rarely seen without his beloved dog, Hudson, who was a constant and loyal companion.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his children, Patrice (John), Jill, and Evan Jr. (Prija); his cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Emma, Mia, Samantha, Teddy, Kasey and Leo; his stepchildren, Alexa (John), Kate (Andre) and Jared. He will also be lovingly remembered by Patricia (Ed), the mother of his children, and his dear sister, Jill (Jeff).
Evan will be remembered as a proud veteran, a devoted father and grandfather, and a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and never missed a moment to laugh or connect with others. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 28th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 2 Floral Parkway, Floral Park, NY 11001.
