Mr. Evan Johnson, age 54 of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025. He was born April 29, 1971, in Marietta, Georgia, the son of Bobby Johnson and Raenell Evans Johnson.
He was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church of Marietta and dedicated 30 years to managing Sherlocks. His love for sports was evident - he was one of the biggest Miami Hurricanes fans, played many rounds of golf, and even played briefly on the PGA tour. Coach Evan was one of his many proudly held titles, as he found joy in coaching girls' softball. Whether he was cooking a wonderful meal, taking a drive in his jeep, or having a crowd around him singing while playing the guitar, he cherished the simple joys of life.
He is survived by his daughter, Avery (Austen) Cornwell; son, Curtis (Madison) Johnson; Life Partner, Syrina Garcia; parents, Bobby and Raenell Johnson; and his sister, Melody (Kevin) Tomlinson.
Evan will have 2 separate Celebration of Life events. The first will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama, at The Venue at Johnson. This will start at 11:00 AM so we can watch the Miami game and celebrates Evans life. The second celebration will be held on January 3, 2025, in Kennesaw, Georgia, at the Ben Robertson Community Center. It will be from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM. All family and friends are invited to attend and show how special Evan was to everyone.
