Evelyn A. Berkovitz, 95, of Kewaunee died on October 17, 2023. She was born on June 19, 1928, in Manitowoc to the late Frank and Anna (Dybel) Wotachek.
She graduated from Kewaunee High School with the class of 1946. She then worked for Bob Krauss at Kewaunee Equipment Co., for Leyse Aluminum Co., and Evan’s Variety Store.
She married Roland Berkovitz on August 19, 1950, and he preceded her in death on June 24, 1996.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed quilt making, sewing, and spending time with her family, and was a lifelong Cubs fan.
Survivors include her children, Susan Colle, Saddlebrooke, AZ, Terry (Mary) Berkovitz, Sheboygan, WI, Nancy (Lynn) Strand, Saddlebrooke, AZ, Wayne Berkovitz, Green Bay, WI, Craig Berkovitz, Green Bay, WI, Melissa (Cary) Schawel, Crystal Lake, IL, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Wotachek, Kewaunee, WI, and Germaine Berkovitz, Manitowoc, WI, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Berkovitz, one son, Mark Berkovitz, a brother, Eugene Wotachek, and a sister, Henrietta (Edward) Krysak, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Marie Berkovitz, brother-in-law, James Berkovitz, and sister-in-law, Shirley (Don) Detampel.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 12:00 pm with Msgr. Jim Dillenburg officiating. Burial to follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family will be donating memorial contributions to Evelyn’s favorite charities.
