Evelyn Carol (Harding) Davis, 84, a life-long resident of Troy, passed away peacefully and quietly on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with the love of family near after a brief period of declining health.
She was born the daughter of the late Cecile B. (Vigneault) and Bernard T. Harding on March 15, 1941, in Worcester, MA. Carol, as her friends and family knew her, was educated locally and graduated from Troy High School, Class of 1959.
Carol enjoyed her time working for the National Grange Insurance Company in Keene as a file keeper for 30 years until she retired in 2005. Prior, Carol worked for Troy Mills for a short time
She had a deep love for country music and would listen to it constantly. Bingo nights were another joy of hers, offering both fun and companionship. She shared an especially close bond with her sister Barbara, a connection she cherished deeply until Barbara's passing in 1998, a loss that remained close to her heart throughout her life. She also kept in touch with her close childhood friend, Bernyce Hellus until email became too difficult for her.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her children, Mark A. Drury and wife, Julie of Troy, and Debra L. Garcia and husband, Adolfo of Lawrence, MA. She is also survived by her brother, William Harding of Shirly, MA., her five grandchildren, Amber Gagne, Alaina Snide, Alexis Nelson, Ashley Garcia, and Alexandra "Alex" Garcia, and her eight great-grandchildren, her one niece, Jodi Champney and six nephews. Jim and Jay Coppo, Thomas, Billy, Brian, and Steven Harding. She was predeceased by her parents, her five siblings, Beverly Harding, Betty Harding, Richard Harding, Bernard Harding Jr., and Barbara Harding.
The family also very much appreciates all the staff at Comfort Keepers for taking such great care of mom the last four years.
In keeping with Evelyn's wishes, there will be no formal services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Health Care, Hospice and Community Services in
Keene, NH.
