Evelyn Ann Dotson

Evelyn Ann (James) Dotson, 78, of West Warwick, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. At the time of her passing she was surrounded by family.
Evelyn was the loving wife of the late Leslie C. Dotson, to whom she had been married for 42 years. Lee was her soulmate, and it comforts us to think they have been reunited. She was born in Providence and was the daughter of the late William James and Anna (Gallucci) Wetherell.
Evelyn was the heart of our big Italian family and took her role as the matriarch very seriously, especially when it came to holidays, traditions, and food. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and dedicated her life to making sure her family was happy, and their needs were being met. She is survived by her beloved children, Kimberly D. Hancock (Benjamin) of Carlsbad, CA and Todd L. Dotson (Michael Budd) of Cranston, her siblings, Kenneth James, Robert Wetherell, and Marianne Levesque, and her grandchildren, Cooper Hancock and Chloe Hancock. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life, and she did everything she could to spoil them rotten.
She graduated from John F. Deering High School in 1964, and she still gathers regularly with her high school friends. She worked for over twenty-five years in the Member Services Department at Greenwood Credit Union. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish in Coventry and a member of the Cranston Community Women's Club. An avid golfer, she was also a member of the Kings Crossing Golf Club. Evelyn also volunteered for the USO Center at TF Green Airport where she assisted United States Military Veterans.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, 445 Washington Street, Coventry.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
