Evelyn E. Jepsen, 92, of Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, WI died on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Three Oaks Health Services.
Evelyn Elaine Bartz was born on May 28, 1933 in Chili, Wisconsin the daughter of Robert and Mildred (Hodges) Bartz. She was united in marriage on September 17, 1949 to Eugene Jepsen in Neillsville. Evelyn worked at the Neillsville Clinic as a nurse's aide and continued her career when they moved to Green Bay where she worked at the DePere Clinic. They lived in Green Bay from 1973 to 1984 when they returned to Neillsville. Together they owned and operated several stores one of which was Gene's TV and Appliance. Evelyn's creative talents shown through in her love for gardening, especially flowers, her passion for cooking, particularly during the holidays and she found joy in painting, crafting and sewing. A devoted daughter, Evelyn lovingly cared for her mother for many years after returning home.
Evelyn is survived by sons, Mark and Dan Jepsen, a daughter, Debra Jepsen, grandchildren; Heath (Danielle) Jepsen, Erik (Vanessa) Jepsen, Torben, Karsten and Britta (Dustin) Jepsen-Sherrill and 2 great grandchildren; Svea and Isla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband a son, Steve and 7 siblings.
A memorial service for both Evelyn and Eugene will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday morning prior to the service. Military honors will be accorded for Eugene by the Neillsville Veteran's Council. Interment will take place at a later date in City Point Cemetery.
