Evelyn Charlene Utterback

Evelyn Charlene (Martin) Utterback, age 89, a resident of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and former longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her home in Locust Grove.
Evelyn was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 24, 1933 to her parents, Raymond Morris Martin and Elva Annona (Pursley) Martin. Evelyn attended Altus Schools and was a proud graduate of the class of 1954 from Altus High School. Throughout the years, Evelyn worked at the Kelwood Sewing factory in Altus and later was an Alterations Seamstress in Altus at the Main Dry Cleaners until she had to retire due to an illness that caused her to be disabled. On June 30, 1954 she married Paul Kenneth Utterback. She was a longtime member of the Altus First Baptist Church were she was involved with the Evangelical Ministry in the 90's were Evelyn considered some of the best years of her life. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2000 where she was a member of the 40th Street Baptist Church and later she settled in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to be closer to her family. Evelyn cherished spending time with her family, especially her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and her great great grandchildren, and she will be missed very much.
Preceding Evelyn in death were her grandparents, Carrol Burnett Martin and Tommie Elizabeth (Lumpkins) Martin; John Jefferson Pursley and Samantha Luvina (Crank) Pursley; parents, Raymond Morris Martin and Elva Annona (Pursley) Martin; her daughter, Laurel June Utterback; brothers, Raymond Martin, Jr.; Frank Martin; and Kenneth Lee Martin; sisters, Clara Geneva; and Sue Ella Martin.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Annona Sue Utterback Bradley Parker; of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Windy Kistler of Locust Grove; and Martin Wayne Bradley of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two great granddaughters and two great grandsons; six great great grandsons and one great great granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
A Graveside Funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
