Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Evelyn Vick, 94, of Gilbert, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Gilbert First Baptist Church in Gilbert, LA with Carl Williams, Jr. and Bubba Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Memorial Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro, LA.
Mrs. Vick was born on January 9, 1931, in Tallulah, LA and passed away at her residence in Gilbert, LA on July 2, 2025. Sewing was her passion. She could make anything. Mrs. Vick loved every child that came through her doors and she made sure they had a drink and a snack before they left. She lived a long and happy life in the same house for 70 years in Gilbert, LA. Mrs. Evelyn was married to the love of her life, A.J. Vick, for over 40 years. She loved to shop with her niece and best friend, Fannie. They loved spending many hours shopping for their grandchildren but would never buy for themselves.
Mrs. Vick is preceded in death by her husband, A.J. Vick; 5 sisters, 3 brothers; special niece, Fannie Jean Fortenberry; special nephew, James Rashel; and her niece, Barbara Lee.
Survivors include her niece, Vickie Williams and husband, Carl of Winnsboro, LA; Vickie's children, Crystal Ulmer and husband, Tommy of Crowville, LA, Trey Williams and wife, Jessica of Winnsboro, LA; nephew, Alvie Vick of Gilbert, LA and his son, Ethan and his wife, Julia and their girls from Swartz, LA; chosen grandchildren, Abigale, Carly, Carl, Mallory Jean and Case; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends that she adored.
Pallbearers will be Carl Williams IV, Trey Williams, Case Ulmer, Tommy Ulmer, Alvie Vick, Thomas Granger, and Nathan Powers.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Gilbert First Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to Gilbert First Baptist Church.
