Evelyn Aliree "Ree" Womick Waddell passed away on October 29, 2025. She was born on March 3, 1938, and was the daughter of the late James Herbert and Alice Mae Womick.
Evelyn was a woman of strong faith, gentle spirit, and great love for her family. She worked as a line operator for 24 years before retiring.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Waddell Emory (Ronnie) and Alecia Gilmore (Jay); her brother, Wilburn Womick; her granddaughters, Brittany Yerkes, Morgan Barnes (Tanner), and Madison Gilmore; her grandsons, Will Gilmore (Brady) and Walker Gilmore; and her great-grandchildren, Mason, Tyler, and Amelia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Douglas Waddell; her sister, Betty Fowler; and her brother, Tommy Womick.
A graveside service to honor Mrs. Evelyn’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Michael Evans will officiate the service.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
