Evelyn Ruth Walker, a radiant soul and cherished matriarch, drifted gently from this world on August 29, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on January 23, 1943, she spent her life enveloped in a love for family that knew no bounds. As the life of every gathering, Evelyn was a sweetly soft-spoken presence with a dash of class that made her the heart and spirit of any room, embodying the very essence of joy and warmth.
Evelyn was a woman who treasured the simple pleasures of life. Her laughter echoed with delight as she participated in spirited fishing trips, enjoyed the card games and dominoes that brought friends and family together, and delighted in the challenge of video games, puzzles, sudoku, and crosswords. Ever the sports aficionado, she joined her family in cheering for her beloved Dallas teams, passionately rooting for the Cowboys, Mavericks, and Rangers. When not involved in competitive play or vibrant gatherings, she found solace in reading and dancing, bringing rhythm to her life and light to her loved ones.
Above all, Evelyn’s proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, who carry forward her legacy of love and familial devotion. She poured her heart into nurturing each of them, creating a rich tapestry of memories that will forever resonate within their hearts.
Evelyn’s viewing will take place on September 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, TX. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects as they celebrate a life so beautifully lived. The following day, mourning will merge with remembrance during her funeral service, commencing at 11:00 AM and concluding at on September 11, 2025, at the same location.
She leaves behind a legacy wrapped in the fondest memories of cherished moments shared with her family, and those who were fortunate enough to know her will forever hold her love close to their hearts. Evelyn Ruth Walker was not only a daughter, sister, and friend, but a beacon of love and light whose spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
