Evelyn Joyce "Evie" Wallace, age 94, of Sweeny, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on January 16, 1931, in Refugio, Texas, to Clyde Jack Smith and Susie Faye Rose Smith, Evie was a woman of deep faith, radiant joy, and unwavering love. She was baptized on September 17, 1950, a moment that marked the beginning of a lifelong devotion to Jesus and to loving others with His unconditional grace.
On April 23, 1947, she married the love of her life, Billy Hugh Wallace, at First Baptist Church Bay City. Together they built a home where faith and family were the foundation. Evie was a proud and faithful member of First Baptist Church Sweeny for over 75 years. Her church family meant just as much to her as her own, and she poured her heart into teaching, serving, and encouraging others in her home away from home.
Evie had a joyful spirit that lit up every room. In February 1981, she joined Mary Kay, a passion that allowed her to bless so many through beauty, confidence, and laughter. She cherished doing makeovers with “her girls” and created lifelong friendships along the way.
She also loved gardening, nurturing her plants with the same care and attention she gave to people. Whether she was teaching a Sunday school class, helping someone find a lipstick shade, or simply sharing a kind word, she reflected the light and love of Christ in all she did.
Evie is preceded in death by her beloved husband Billy Wallace, her daughter Linda Joyce Lincecum, her parents, her grandparents, and four siblings—including Rose Orr, Mildred Ferguson, Helen Bailey, and Clyde Smith.
She is survived by her daughter Vicki Lynn Milian with husband Richard Milian, her grandchildren Wes Lincecum with wife Stacey Lincecum, Kyle Milian with wife Chelsea Milian, Kirby Betancourt with husband Justin Betancourt, Kaden Milian with wife Addie Milian, and Karli Guity with husband Alex Guity, and her great-grandchildren Grant Lincecum, Grayson Lincecum, Reagan Joyce Milian, Carson Milian, Meredith Milian, Abigail Milian, Everett (Evie) Joy Milian, and Zak Betancourt. Evie leaves behind a host of extended family and dear friends who will carry her memory and legacy in their hearts.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff at The Fountains Assisted Living Community. Your care, kindness, and love for Evie went far beyond duty, you treated her like family, and for that, we are forever grateful.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 2:00 p.m. on August 9th, 2025, at First Baptist Church Sweeny, TX 77480, with Jerl Watkins, John Price, and Warren Rayburn officiating. Interment to follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
In honor of Evie’s servant heart, memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Ministry of First Baptist Church Sweeny c/o https://giving.servantkeeper.com/fbcsweeny
Her life was a living testimony of God’s love and grace. She loved deeply, gave generously, and left a legacy of faith that will continue to bless generations to come. To know Evie was to be loved by her, and by Jesus, whom she served so faithfully.
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” — Psalm 27:1
