Evelyn Louise Beasley Wilson, age 90, a resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away peacefully at The Retreat Hospice facility in Mobile on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Evelyn was born on October 5, 1934 in Epps, Louisiana. She was the youngest of 6 children born to Vander Beasley and Mamie Welch Beasley. She is a graduate of Epps High School.
Evelyn married her childhood sweetheart, Fred Ellis Wilson. Evelyn and Fred Wilson had 6 children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed by all. She and Fred were married for 73 years and passed away within a week of each other.
Evelyn accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, near Epps. She started playing the piano in church as a teenager.
She was a devoted pastor's wife and served faithfully with Fred.
The musical talent she began using for the Lord as a young girl, she continued all her life. She was a church pianist and later a church organist in all of the churches they served together in Louisiana and Alabama.
She was active in other ways at each of the churches where they served: WMU leader, Sunday School teacher - she had a special place in her heart for the young married couples and worked with them at many of the churches.
Music was always an important part of her life. She and Fred were a great team - as he sang, she accompanied him on the piano and would also harmonize with him. Music had a special place in the family.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wilson, her father and mother, Vander and Mamie Beasley, and daughter, Lauren Louise Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Wilson (Julia); her daughters, Dinah Lincecum (Philip), Sharon Hannie, Vicky McClure (Terry), and Beverly Fain (Ronnie).
