Everardo Huerta De La Toba, 95 years of La Hacienda de Orientales, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in Fort Stockton.
Everardo, lovingly known as "El Prieto" was born in San Antonio del Bravo, Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua on January 22, 1930, to Everardo Huerta and Catarina De La Toba. He married Eloisa Soltero on December 6, 1950, in La Hacienda.
El Prieto's career and passion was music. He was a guitar player for "La Orquesta de la Boquilla" for over 30 years. At 95 years, he was the last surviving member of the legendary band and also of his siblings.
He is preceded by his parents Everardo Huerta and Catarina De La Toba, siblings Mario Huerta, Tomas (Machi) Huerta, Humberto Huerta and Elodia Hernandez plus two grandchildren, Fernando and Adan Huerta Jr.
He leaves his legacy and memory to his children Zoila (Manuel) Galindo, Oscar (Eustolia Duarte) Huerta, Adan Huerta and Eva (Omar) Valdez, 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 11am to 8pm with a Rosary recited at 7pm at Eternity Funeral Home. The second day of visitation will take place on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 1pm to 8pm at Eternity Funeral Home.
Final Funeral Services will be held at Paso de San Antonio Cemetery in municipio Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico at a later date.
The family of Mr. Everardo "El Prieto" would like to thank Interim Hospice, Kysha Numbers, Pecos County Hospital medical staff for their exceptional care, compassion, and support they provided and everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
