Melissa "Meli" Trevizo, Hernandez, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 56. Born on November 14, 1968, in Alpine, Texas, Meli brought warmth and joy into the lives of all who knew her.
Meli was a woman whose presence could light up any room. Known for her vibrant spirit and contagious laugh, she had a gift for making others feel welcome and loved. Whether she was attending community events or hosting one of her beloved garage sales, Meli thrived when surrounded by people. Her cheerful nature and boundless energy made every gathering more memorable.
At the heart of Meli's world was her family. She shared a deep and enduring bond with her husband, Rigoberto Trevizo-affectionately known as Rigo. Their connection was one of unwavering companionship; they were rarely seen apart. Together they built a life centered around love and devotion to their children and grandchildren.
Meli cherished her role as a mother to Rigoberto Jr. Trevizo and Esmeralda Trevizo. Her pride in them was immeasurable, and she celebrated their accomplishments with joy and enthusiasm. She welcomed into her heart their spouses, Deisy G. Trevizo and Dylan Hudson-and embraced them as part of her family.
Her greatest delight came from being a grandmother to Catalina Hudson, Damian Trevizo, and Danilo Trevizo. Meli's days were filled with calls, visits, and moments spent nurturing these precious relationships. Her love for her grandchildren radiated through every joke she made and every smile she shared.
Meli is also lovingly remembered by her father, Rosendo E. Hernandez Jr.; her siblings Rosendo A. Hernandez, Jose H. Hernandez (and his wife Sibylle), Dora L Cruz (and her husband Gabino Cruz); as well as many extended family members who held a very special place in her heart.
She now joins in eternal rest her beloved mother Priscilla Hernandez; maternal grandmother Dolores Camp; paternal grandparents Ester Estrada Hernandez and Rosendo V. Hernandez.
A woman of immense reliability and compassion, Meli lived each day with purpose-to connect with those she loved most. Her golden heart touched countless lives through simple acts of kindness that left lasting impressions.
May the memory of Meli's laughter continue to echo in the hearts of those who knew her best-and may the love she gave so freely live on through generations to come.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church in Presidio with Fr. Mike officiating with Rosary at 10:30am. Burial will be followed after Mass to La Haciendita Family Cemetery in Presidio.
