Everett Ailey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fielden Funeral Home Inc on Nov. 21, 2025.

Everett Denver Ailey, born in Jefferson County on December 21st, 1934, found peace everlasting on November 20th. Departing to a place with no suffering, Denver went to join his late wife Tina, who remained in his heart always.

The love Denver shared for his family and friends came through not in words, but in deeds. He worked hard and took pride in a job well done, tending to the farm he started himself diligently. Quick to laugh and always willing to share time with his family, Denver took joy in seeing those he loved grow and thrive.

He is survived by his sons Randy Ailey (Lettie), and Daniel Ailey of Jefferson City, TN. His family extends to three grandchildren who carry his legacy in their hearts, Matthew Ailey (Leah), Reid Ailey, and Kenzie McGhee (Chase), and two great-grandchildren, Emery and Milo. He is predeceased by his brother Bob Ailey.

As an electrician, Denver climbed utility poles with resilience and tenacity well before bucket trucks came into standard use. His work with Western Union saw him adapt with the times; he self-taught electrical engineering in order to gain new opportunities, and worked hard to realize his dream of starting his own farm. He also served in the Army as a cook and courier prior.

Special thank you to Smoky Mountain Hospice and Serenity House.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Denver's memory may be made to Friends of Hospice of the Lakeway Area.

Graveside service 11:00 am Monday, November 24, 2025, at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Fielden Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ailey Family.
