Elect Ailey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ainsworth & Young Funeral Home on Oct. 4, 2025.
"The Lady of Praise"
September 30, 1950 – October 2, 2025

Elect Lady Brinda Ailey was born on September 30, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Annie B. Williams and Robert L. Jones Sr. She was raised in Burkburnett, Texas, and graduated from Burkburnett High School in the Class of 1969.
On July 4, 1981, she united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Allen M. Ailey. Together, they made their home in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Lady Ailey began her professional journey as a Head Start teacher at Booker T. Washington. In 1989, she transitioned to the State of Texas, where she faithfully served for 21 years before retiring. Even after retirement, her heart for service led her to work as a bus monitor for WFISD until health challenges required her to step down.
Her spiritual journey began in 1978 when she gave her life to Christ. She became a devoted member of Greater Miracle under the leadership of Bishop A.J. Ailey. Throughout her ministry, she served in numerous roles including choir director, deaconess, usher, Sunshine Band teacher, Purity Class teacher, and missionary. Later, she embraced her calling as First Lady of Greater Gospel Temple, where she served with grace, humility, and unwavering faith. She was a true woman of God who dedicated her life to serving her pastor, her bishop, her church, and most importantly, her Lord.
Affectionately known as the "Lady of Praise," Elect Lady Ailey was a beloved member of the community. Her praise was powerful, and her presence left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Her legacy of worship, wisdom, and warmth lives on in all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. Jones Sr. and Annie B. Crane; her brother, Robert Jones; and her sisters, Victoria Cooper and Selita McCloud.
Cherishing her memory are her loving husband, Allen Ailey; brothers Ricky Harris and Grayland Jones; sons Willis Carson (fiancée LaCrisha Johnson) and Edward Carson (Tari C.); daughters Zelecka Carson, Missy Gray (Shannon G.), Alfreda Ballard (Javier B.), and LaDonna Carson.
She also leaves behind her beloved bonus children: Lena, Gerald, Evette, Anita, and DeWayne; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and spiritual children. Among them, her best friend Supervisor Cecilia Ailey and her favorite niece Candy held a special place in her heart. Her extended church family and countless friends will also remember her with love.
Elect Lady Brinda Ailey was, and always will be, remembered as a true worshipper-a woman who embodied the spirit of praise. Her life was a testimony, and her voice echoed the joy of the Lord.
