Everett McDaniel Obituary

Everett McDaniel, 91, of Pomeroy, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Holzer Hospital in Gallipolis. He was born on April 16, 1934, in Middleport, the son of the late Everett and Thelma McDaniel.

Everett is survived by his wife of 73 years, Anna Phyllis McDaniel of Pomeroy; daughter, Debi (John) Grubb of Gallipolis; son, Randy Everett (Lori) McDaniel of Pomeroy; 7 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Thelma of Middleport; sons, Roger Denver McDaniel, age 6, and Timothy Michael McDaniel of Vinton, Ohio; brothers, George McDaniel and Walter McDaniel; sisters, Emma Jean Miller of New Jersey and Phyllis McGuire of Gallipolis; in-laws, Denver and Edith Bowen of Mason, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Joan (Richard) Varian of Mason; and niece, Jennifer Sue Varian of Mason.

Everett graduated high school in 1952 from Middleport High School. He served in the Army National Guard from 1954 to 1955, and then the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1956, when he received an honorable discharge.

Everett worked for various companies as a maintenance man until he was hired by Appalachian Power in 1973 and worked at their Philip Sporn Plant until he retired in 1996.

Everett was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses in March of 1990. He stayed busy with his Christian Ministry and in his spare time, he enjoyed building model train sets, flying R.C. aircraft, and traveling with his wife and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 37319 State Route 124, Middleport, Ohio. David Green, an elder in the congregation for many years, will be the speaker, discussing the Bible’s promise of a Resurrection!
