Everett James White, 84, affectionately known as Jim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in
Sullivan, Missouri, on Friday, November 28, 2025. Born on July 16, 1941, in Gassaway, West Virginia to Everett and Mildred (James) White, Jim was a man of integrity, hard work, and deep faith.
Jim grew up in the close-knit community of Glenville, West Virginia, where he graduated from Glenville High School in 1959. His early life in Glenville was filled with fond memories and friendships that lasted a lifetime. It was there that he honed his skills and developed a lifelong passion for mechanics and automobiles.
On January 26, 1964, Jim married the love of his life, Peggy Jo Pritt. Together, they shared a journey of love and companionship, welcoming Peggy's son Randy into the family, and later being blessed with two more children, Brian and Danni. Jim was a devoted husband and a loving father, always ensuring that his family was well cared for and loved.
For several years, Jim worked as a skilled mechanic at the local Ford dealership in Glenville and also lent his expertise to a local towing service. His work was not just a job but a reflection of his dedication to his craft. In 1978, Jim made the significant decision to move his family to Wyoming, where he worked in the uranium mines for two decades. His resilience and adaptability were evident as he later transitioned to a career as a commercial truck driver, a role he embraced until his retirement.
In 1993, Jim and his family settled in
Sullivan, Missouri, where they made their final home. He retired from driving trucks and working at Ace Manufacturing in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and reliability.
Jim's Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life, especially in his later years. He was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Lonedell, Missouri, where he found great solace and community. His faith in the Lord was unwavering, and it guided him through all of life's challenges and joys.
A man of many interests, Jim loved working on cars, a passion that was both a hobby and a vocation. He also found great pleasure in tending to his garden, where he would spend hours nurturing his plants and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Above all, Jim cherished the time spent with his family. His presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew him.
Jim's life was a testament to the values of hard work, faith, and family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his generous spirit, and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
