Christopher Bommarito, 79, of
Sullivan, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Mercy Hospital – Saint Louis.
He was born on October 13, 1946, in Belleville, Illinois, to the late Honor and Luella (Klucker) Bommarito. Chris grew up in Belleville and was a proud graduate of Belleville West High School, Class of 1965. Upon graduating, he selflessly enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War era. During his service, he earned several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Sharpshooter Badge. He worked as an Avionics Mechanic and took great pride in his military career.
Following his honorable discharge, Chris returned to civilian life and continued his education, earning a bachelor's degree in marketing from SIU–Edwardsville in 1972. Shortly thereafter, he was united in marriage to Susan Hill on June 13, 1975. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Leah and Britton. The family remained in Belleville while Chris worked for Barrad and Company, sadly he and Susan later divorced.
A new opportunity arose when Paramount Apparel hired Chris as their purchasing manager. He relocated his family to Sullivan in 1989 and remained a faithful and dedicated employee of Paramount until his retirement in 2011.
Chris loved golfing, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time at shooting ranges with his friends. Above all, he treasured his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church.
