Michael Joseph Bommarito Jr., Freeland, Michigan.
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away suddenly Monday, November 24, 2025. Age 80 years. Son of the late Michael and Mary Madeline (Ambilo) Bommarito, Michael was born June 17, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan. He served proudly in the U.S. Army. Mike married Millie Michalski, his loving wife of 47 years, on November 11, 1967. She predeceased him December 9, 2014. He then married Mary Ellen Haggitt on February 14, 2019. She survives him. Mike was employed at General Motors for 30 years. He was a very active member of St. John Paul II Parish (St. Josaphat Catholic Church) and Knight of Columbus Council #4232. He enjoyed playing euchre, Bingo and antique cars.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Ellen Bommarito; one son and one daughter, David and Kathy Bommarito, Grand Rapids; Karen and Jason Host, Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Cole, Cadence, Keira, and Kiley Bommarito, Rachel and Justin Host; two sisters, Catherine and Mike Krafft, Frankenmuth; Vivian Bommarito, Frankenmuth; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Mike was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and John Bommarito.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles, Saginaw, Michigan 48602. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military services conducted by V.F.W. Post #1859 and the United States Army. Friends may visit at the church, where the family will be present on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Knights of Columbus Council #4232.
