To Bubba Copeland's cherished family: we don't know each other, and I don't live in Alabama. But I work very frequently in Columbus and east Alabama. I read the eulogies and saw happy pictures and drove through Smiths Station today. It is obvious that your beloved Bubba brought people together and left places and people better than before. That will be his legacy. I am very sad. I offer my promise to do everything in my power to ensure that kindness always wins. And my prayer is that others do the same. May his memory be a blessing to you all.

I was so sorry to hear about Bubba. My prayers go out to the entire family. I remember him fondly attending the Piggly Wiggly conventions as a young man and then later with his young family. My heart is heavy as I am writing this and remembering the entire family and know that he will truly be missed!

I live in Maine had no idea who Mr Copeland was until an earlier article appeared on my news feed. Sounds like the kind of person we´d all be better off knowing. Very sorry for your loss. Will do my best to carry on Bubba´s generosity, love, and spirit.

I didn't know Bubba but I heard about the circumstances of his death. It made me sad and heartbroken. I know a lot about the hardships of people who dare to be different. But he was like any other human. He just wanted to be accepted and loved for who he really was. I hope he is in a better place and happy. Rest in Peace Bubba. My deepest condolences to his family.

I have known Bubba since he was a teen attending Smiths Station school with my son and playing tag football with the neighborhood kids in our front yard. He was an upstanding young man and a man of the people of Smiths Station and Phenix City. He will be surely missed by everyone that knew him. Rest in peace dear Bubba.
My condolences to your family and friends.
