Faith Powell Obituary

Our beloved Mammie, 96, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 19, 2025.
Faith was a self taught, talented artist who enjoyed painting with oils, acrylics and charcoals. She was a proud 1948 graduate of Moundsville High School, a member of the Moundsville Tuesday Arts Club, Homemakers Club and attended Calvary United Methodist Church. Faith loved watching high school sports, playing marbles and many different card games with every generation of her grandchildren who all loved her so much.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald D. Powell, beloved daughters Cynthia Faith Murphy and Donna F. Powell, and a grandson Andrew D. Murphy.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda & Ross Lockhart of Moundsville and Michael Murphy of Wheeling; great-grand children, Emily Faith Winters (Landen Lile) of Lafayette LA, Hanah Winters and Zayne Murphy both of Wheeling, Hunter Lockhart (Logan Totterdale), Gavin Lockhart (Sydney), Abigail Knight (Brandon), and Avery Murphy all of Moundsville; great-great grandchildren, Hudson and Evelyn Faith Knight and Benson Lockhart;her best friend who she considered more like a sister, Midge Berisford and all her loving neighbors.
A special thank you to WVU Renoylds 3rd Floor & WVU Continuous Care Wheeling for their care, comfort, and dignity they provided to both Faith and her family during their short time there.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, October 26th from 2-4pm with service following at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Rev Kara Rowe officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall County Special Olympics.
