He was born November 14, 1939; the son of the late Charles Lee Semple, Sr. and Opal Hamlin Semple.
Charles attended Cornerstone Church of God, was an Army veteran, a maintenance foreman and planner at Mobay Chemical, a member of the Masonic Liberty Lodge; attended Marshall Union Lodge 8 AF & AM. He was a former pilot, avid swimmer at Four Seasons Pool, enjoyed motorcycling, tinkering with old cars, and his favorite hobby was fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Debbie Semple; two sons, Scott and Andrew Semple.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Dixie Barr Semple; two sons, Charles Lee Semple III of Martinsburg, WV and Joseph (Debbie) Semple of Paden City, WV; two daughters, Amanda (Robert) Key of Newport, OH and Angela (Brett Wagner) Semple of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren, Charles Lee Semple IV, Andrew Dillon Semple and Joseph (Kayla) Semple; two great-grandchildren, Alex Key and Keegan Semple; two sisters, Opal Jane Wise of Price, UT and Sandy Weaver of Sherrard, WV; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Friday October 17th from 4-7pm. Funeral Service will be held on October 18th at 10am with Rev. Ronald Wilfong officiating at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave. Moundsville, WV.
Interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
