Fannie Hampton Harber of
London, Kentucky, a cherished homemaker and dedicated member of the First Methodist Church in
London, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was 94 years old.
She leaves behind two children, Michael Harber & wife Ann of
Port Charlotte, FL, Linda Curry & husband Joe of Lexington, KY; seven grandchildren, Michelle Hood, Jacob Harber, Amanda Richards, Blake Curry, Brent Curry, Scott Curry, Raymond Turner; eight great grandchildren, Tallon Hood, Turner Hood, Coleman Curry, Ellis Curry, Bowen Curry, Ellory Curry, Brayden Turner, Westyn Turner; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted E. Harber; her parents, Bryan & Belle Bennett Hampton; one son, Larry Harber; eight siblings, Martha Cupp, Mary Ann Robinson, Audrey Barrett, Lawrence Hampton, Tom Hampton, Leon Hampton, Bill Hampton, J. W. Hampton; and by her great grandson, J. B. Curry.
Fannie was known for her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and steadfast devotion to her family and faith. As a homemaker, she created a warm and loving home where friends and family always felt welcomed and cherished.
Fannie's love for nature blossomed from a young age. She found solace and joy in tending to her garden, cultivating vibrant blooms and nurturing her cherished plants. Her green thumb was matched only by her love for the outdoors, where she found peace and tranquility amidst the beauty of the natural world.
In addition to her passion for gardening and her dedication to her family, Fannie possessed a remarkable spirit of self-sufficiency. Even at 90 years old, she could be found canning food and mowing her own yard, a testament to her resilience and determination.
Fannie's faith was an integral part of her life. As a member of the First Methodist Church in
London, KY, she found solace and strength in her religious community. She approached life with grace and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Fannie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Funeral services for Fannie Hampton Harber will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Pastor Sean Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in
Lily, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 22, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Fannie's honor to First United Methodist Church, 301 W. 5th Street,
London, KY 40741. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
