Farley Andre "Fred" Lavender

Farley Andre Lavender, 69 years old, went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1955 in Trenton, NJ to the late Willie James Lavender and Clara Mae Lavender. He grew up in Lawrence Twp., NJ and attended Lawrence Twp. Public Schools. He was inducted into Lawrence High School Hall of Fame 1972 Football Team. He attended Mercer County Community College and North Carolina A & T State University in Greensboro, NC where he majored in Business.
Farley was employed at Mercer County Board of Social Services for a few years. He then went into business as the Owner and Operator of Lavender's Lawn Service & Maintenance. Farley took pride in his work and made sure his customers were satisfied.
Farley loved the Lord and believed in his faith. He spent his early years as a member of Beauty Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Trenton, NJ. He later joined Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church under the guidance of Pastor Charles F. Boyer.
Farley was a member of King David Lodge #15 (F.&A.M.,PHA) Trenton, NJ; King David Chapter #6 (H.R.A.M.,PHA) Trenton, NJ-Past Excellent High Priest; Ophir Consistory #48 (A.A.S.R.,PHA) Valley of Trenton; Khufu Temple#120 (A.E.O.N.M.S.) Princeton, NJ. Farley was devoted to his membership in these organizations.
Farley enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going on vacations, listening to jazz, fishing, and sports. His favorite teams were the New York Knicks and Dallas Cowboys. Farley also enjoyed racing his 1972 Chevrolet Nova at Atco and was a member of the Trenton Street Racers.
Farley had no problem "telling it like it is". His personality was one of a kind. Farley's love for his family was ever faithful, ever giving, ever present and everlasting. He gave us laughter and joy, love and friendship, and wisdom and patience when necessary - in his own kind of way. He encouraged and inspired others, especially his daughters and grandchildren, as they made him proud. Farley loved going to see his grandchildren in programs at school, as well as in their extracurricular activities.
Farley leaves to cherish his memory his lovely wife of 40 years, Rita D. Lavender; daughters, Sakira D. Dominique and Chantel J. Lavender; sister, Sheila Connor; brother, Glenn Lavender; two grandchildren, Ariana Dominique and Gregory Dominique Jr.; two godchildren, Kenisha Love and Maya Thompson; special brothers-in-law, Bruce Stowers (Darlene) and Kenneth Love (Wanda); special cousins, Buzz, Saul, Percy and Wesley; Lawrence Twp. Friends, Brock, Dexter, Hicks, Lanny, Marvin, and Skeeter; Racing Friends, Al, Andre, Bryce, Carlos, Dickey, Freddy, Howard, Joe, Mike, and Shawn; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
