Morris McLean Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campbell Funeral Chapel - Trenton on Jan. 31, 2026.
Morris Duncan McLean, Jr., affectionately known as "Jumper," was the first of two children born to the late Morris McLean, Sr. and Beatrice Ford-McLean. He was born on August 14, 1954, and gained his wings to eternal life at 4:30 am on January 24, 2026 at Chestnut Hill Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA.

Morris attended the Trenton Public School System. During his high school years, he worked at Leonard's Grocery Store on Clinton and Grant Avenue. After graduation, he entered the United States Air Force, where he served for a period of time and attained the rank of E-2, Airman Second Class. Following his military service, Morris began working at U.S. Steel in Trenton, where he remained employed until its closure.

Morris grew up in Miller Homes in Trenton, NJ, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. It was common to see him on the basketball court, passionately playing the game, he loved. Those who knew him often remember the joy and energy he brought to every pickup game, reflecting his love for sport.

"Jumper" was an affectionate and caring person. For many years, he shared a loving relationship with his best friend, Ethel James, and embraced her children: Michelle, Devon, and Andre; as part of his extended family.

Morris loved sports, especially swimming and basketball, spending countless hours on the basketball court. He also enjoyed attending Philadelphia 76ers basketball games with his cousin Allen. Morris and Ethel shared a love for music and the arts and attended many concerts and plays, often double-dating with Allen and Glay throughout New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia.

Jumper will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast loyalty, and the love he freely gave to family and friends. He was a man who showed up for those he cared about, offering guidance, support, and an unwavering presence. Though he has completed his earthly journey, his spirit, laughter, and legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the hearts that will forever hold his memory.

In addition to his parents, Morris was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, John and Ollie Ford; paternal grandparents, Henry and Shadie McLean; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving brother, Marshall McLean; aunts, Margaret Gillispie, Sarah Evans (Doug), and Eleanor McLean; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special friend, Ethel James.
