Faustina Amankwa, 51, passed unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep April 17, 2025 at home in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood.
Born in Koforidua, Ghana, Faustina graduated from Aburi Girls' High School and earned her BA in Ghanian language and religion from University of Cape Coast. It was at university that she met her husband.
In 2007, the couple came to the United States. Faustina worked as a nanny, where she was deeply devoted to the care of children. She developed deep bonds with her clients and was very trustworthy.
Faustina liked to share ideas and discuss the Word of God. She worshipped and loved to sing and cook.
She was a dedicated volunteer in her church, and very supportive of her husband's role as a minister at House of Prayer for All Nations in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. She sacrificed much and had no complaints. She was thoughtful, caring, prayerful, and happy. Faustina knew that the source of everything was her relationship to the Lord.
Beloved wife of Abraham Ayensu-Peters, devoted mother of Nana Aba Egyirba Ayensu-Peters and Ebo Ayensu-Peters.
Loving daughter of Juliana Yeboah and the late Emmanuel Amankwa.
Dear sister of Jones Asante, the late Dora, Gladys, the late Grace, Akosua, Beatrice, and Isaac.
Celebration of Life, Friday, April 25, 10am at House of Prayer for All Nations, 4631 N. Broadway, Chicago, 60640.
Private burial at Mt. Auburn Cemetery to follow.
