Faxie Burke, Obituary
Faxie Burke, Jr. died on April 18, 2008, after battling a long illness.
Mr. Burke is survived by his wife, Marjorie T. Burke; three daughters, Denise Reed, Margaret Burke and Denene Burke; four sons, Alvin Burke, Kenneth Burke, Tony Burke and Scottie Burke. He is also survived by Michael, Faye and Lydia Tisdale; six sisters and two brothers.
The viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at The Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 15008 Lee Highway, Gainesville, VA 20156, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008. The Reverend Charles B. Covington, will be the Pastor presiding. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Ames Funeral Home of Manassas, Va. >

Faxie was a very dear friend and the Woodson family. We miss him dearly. Faxie always had a kind word and could make you laugh. I called him my Bible Study Buddy. I always loved his flowers. One time I purchased some to plant in my yard but left them in my garage to long without watering them. I told him and he laughed and said " Girl you don't know what you are doing . Let a man show how it's done. Faxie came to my home in Bealeton and planted them for me. Marge never knew. . Love you Faxie and We miss you

It has been almost one year that Bub has been gone and it still seems as if it happened yesterday. I draw from my memories and feel so blessed to have had those special moments. God has blessed his children to appreciate what we had and who we are. God is our ever present help.

Ditty, Stevie, Lee Lee and the rest of the family our hearts and prayers are so with you at this time. Bub was such a wonderful friend to our family especially our mother. He always took the time to stop by and visit mama and to see how she was doing. He would call her and ask if she needed any wood or just to say hello. She really enjoyed his visits. He truly looked out for ma and we are so grateful for that. Not long ago when I had an opportunity to stop by his house I didn't hesitate to let him know just how appreciative we were for all the things he had done he was such a caring person. He just said that he thought the world of Miss Evelyn and he wanted to look out for her. Ditty I am so grateful for your dad and I know my mother is very saddened by his passing she will really miss her good friend but we have so many wonderful memories of him and everytime you think of him you think about his kindness and goodness...
